These NPCs will help adventurers learn about a wide range of quests and other topics. The ones in the starting areas of the game will complete the Adventurer Coupon quest.

• Locations and names of NPCs that have quests (and will mark them on your map)
  • This list is based on quests appropriate to your fame and job level
• Location of the Tutorial NPC
• Information about Records of Eminence
• Information about the Trust initiative
• The area's map and location of the nearest Map Marker NPC
• The map of the whole city
• Basics about fighting
• What quests and missions are
• The Help Desk
• Basic information and tips
• If the player does not have a map of the current area, they will be shown the location of the nearest Map Vendor.

• In the August 2014 update, a new feature for players to search for quests and NPCs offering tutorial objectives was been added to the above NPCs in Bastok / San d'Oria / Windurst.
• In November 2014, this was extended to include the 3 NPCs in Tavnazia, Selbina, and Mhaura.
• The Quest Guide's map icon (🔰) is called a Beginner or "New Leaves" mark.
  • The icon is a standard traffic symbol in Japan. New drivers have to put a 🔰 sticker on the front and back of their car so other drivers know to be patient with them.
  • Japanese video games have used this icon to mean Tutorial. Localizations often replace the icon in international releases.
