Crafting Enfeeblement Kits Starting from Zero

• Q: Can't I just put the potion in the box?
  • A: Combining items? No, that's crazy. We use elemental crystals to bind, carve, or mix items. It's called crystal synthesis but some prefer to say "crafting".

If you're new to crafting, this will be a crash course on what you need to know to make an Enfeeblement Kit and help Shantotto take over the world!

A few points about crafting:

• You don't need to join a crafting guild in order to start crafting and skilling up.
• What joining a guild does, is allows the guild NPCs to give you Synthesis Support.
  • Synthesis Support is a free buff that increases your crafting skill by +1 for a short duration.
  • Advanced Synthesis Support is a buff that increases your crafting skill by +3 for a few minutes, but costs a few gil.
  • Skill increases will result in a higher chance of your synthesis attempt succeeding, but the buff doesn't change your skill-up rate either way.
  • If the Super Kupower "Artisan's Advantage" is active, Advanced Synthesis Support can prevent your items from being lost if a synthesis fails.
• There is no limit to the number of crafting guilds you can join, and there is no downside to joining all of them.
• We will be using Alchemy, Woodworking, and Leathercraft.
  • Alchemy skill will be raised to 8 to increase the probability of the synthesis succeeding. Depending on which kit you need, higher skill will be required if crafting the potion yourself.

First Steps

• Prepare by having File:Earth Crystal icon.png Earth Crystals in your inventory.
• Go to Northern San d'Oria and buy a File:Wood. Kit 5 icon.png Woodworking Kit 5File:Wood. Kit 5 description.png from Cauzeriste (E-3).
• You can speak to Cheupirudaux (F-3) to join the guild, then talk to the other guild NPCs to find synthesis support.

• This recipe is Woodworking level 5. You can attempt to craft recipes up to 27 levels above your skill, but the success chance will be lower the further you are from the recipe level.
  • You could make the Enfeeblement Kit with 0 skill, but it would be risky.
• From the menu, select Items or Synthesis->Crystal Synthesis and select an File:Earth Crystal icon.png Earth Crystal.
• On the synthesis menu, place the File:Wood. Kit 5 icon.png Woodworking Kit 5 and press OK.

• If the synthesis succeeded, you will have the File:Padded Box icon.png Padded Box you need for the Kit.
  • If it didn't, buy another File:Wood. Kit 5 icon.png Woodworking Kit 5 and try again.

Leathercraft 0-5

• Leatherworkers Guild is in Southern San d'Oria, with Faulpie (E-8) as the master. Sign up and get some synthesis support while you're crafting.
• File:Sheepskin icon.png Sheepskin can be purchased from Cletae in the guild.
• File:Distilled Water icon.png Distilled Water can be purchased from Benaige (F-7) at Raimbroy's Groceries across the street.
• Suggest making these until you're at 5 skill before moving on to the File:Fine Parchment icon.png Fine Parchment.
• You can keep the File:Sheep Leather icon.png Sheep Leathers if you're interesting in raising Leathercraft later.

• Skill of 8 should be enough for now. At the lowest rank, you're capped at 10 skill; you'll need to be promoted to the next rank by talking to the guild master and trading him an File:Animal Glue icon.png Animal Glue. This is optional depending on which Enfeeblement Kit you're making.
