Background
Yali is a mythical creature seen in many Hindu Temples. in Sanskrit, Yalis are often sculpted on pillars of Hindu Temples. Yali was a mythical lion. References to the Yalis are very old, but it is depicted in the south Indian sculpture from the 16th Century. Yalis are believed to be more powerful than lions and elephants.
