This item's intended use is to summon an NPC that looks like its icon - also named "Black Mine" - that uses an AoE attack called Mine Blast and then despawns.
- In practice, from its addition in March 2008 through a patch in April 2009, it also set a Summoner's Avatar's perpetuation cost to 0 MP until that avatar was Released or died.
3 seconds after use, detonates and applies effect to nearby enemies.
