In order to receive Sanction, a player must have signed up as a Mercenary with [[Naja Salaheem]] by completing [[Immortal Sentries]] (TOAU Mission 2).

*While equipped with [[Sanction]], players will have the opportunity to receive crystals as well as [[Imperial Standing]] credits at a rate of 10% of the base [[Experience Points]] while battling in [[Aht Urhgan]] areas.
*While equipped with [[Sanction]], if the [[Astral Candescence]] is present in [[Al Zahbi]], the player will receive bonuses to EXP as well as one other selected bonus for 100 [[Imperial Standing]] credits if desired (refresh, regen, or increased food duration).
** The refresh effect is 1/tick and activates at <75% MP when Imperial Defense is at level 8.
** The regen effect is 1/tick and activates at <95% HP when Imperial Defense is at level 8.
** The food duration bonus is +120% when Imperial Defense is at level 8.
** The experience bonus is 15% when Imperial Defense is at level 8. (The lowest is 5% at level 0, and increases by 2% per level up to Defense Lv. 3. After that, it then increases by 1% per level up to Defense Lv. 8)
*The bonus received from these effects depends on the current Imperial Defense level, and can be increased slightly by receiving the effect of [[Sanction]] while equipped with [[Glory Crown]] (adds one to the defense level for the bonus calculation, with the cap on the effect at level 8).
** The refresh effect will require a lower MP level to activate with lower defense levels.
** The regen effect will require a lower HP level to activate with lower defense levels.
** The increased food duration effect will be shortened at lower defense levels.
** The experience bonus will be reduced at lower defense levels.
* The maximum duration of [[Sanction]] increases with the player's Mercenary Rank.
* If the [[Astral Candescence]] is not in [[Al Zahbi]], [[Imperial Standing]] can still be obtained, but the bonuses will not be received and the duration of [[Sanction]] will be reduced significantly.
