==Merits==

Group 1: 5/5 Madrigal effect (when you need accuracy, you need all you can get), and typically 5/5 Minuet. The only time you would consider Minne is if you were somehow the second bard in your party.

Group 2: Nightingale and Troubadour 5/5 are mandatory, the other two categories are lackluster by comparison.

==Support Jobs==

White Mage - Excellent support option, particularly when the party uses a SCH to sustain hp with Regen and uses Dark Arts frequently. When done right, Brd/whm can main heal a party for lots of content. In addition to cures and the ability to remove ailments, having reraise and raise is invaluable.

Scholar - Kind of like white game but also with the ability to make certain spells AOE through accession, like sneak or paralyna.

Dancer - Kind of like white mage but you get to dual wield, your curing options are reliant on tp, and at high master levels you can give the party chocobo jig.

Ninja - dual wield and shadows

Warrior - You could do this for the fencer bonus but typically Bards will offhand a Centovente for the 1,000 tp bonus on weaponskills.
