Richter Karst is the President of the [[Bastok|Republic of Bastok]], elected in 882 CE.  Though considered unpopular (and unfriendly) by many, it is believed that he won the Presidency though the support of Chief Engineer [[Cid]].  During his early career as a Senator, he is credited with rebuilding the city with stone instead of wood after a particularly devastating fire.

He has one child, daughter [[Cornelia]].  It is unknown how his wife perished.
