Vana'diel Census
The Vana'diel Census was a yearly report that showed a number of details about the playerbase.
The sections of the report varied a little year to year but generally included the following:
- Login distribution (analyzing what time of day players logged in)
- Main job level distribution
- Job type distribution
- Racial distribution
- Face type distribution
- Item sales population on the Auction House
- Relics acquired on all worlds
- Home point distribution
- Expansion progression distribution
- Linkshell activity by number of players
- Fame levels for adventurers by nation
The Vana'diel Census was discontinued and the development team has stated there's no plans to resume the annual report. See Vana'diel Census/Topic for more information.
In late 2024, the development team created a survey directed towards both current and former players. While not officially a Census, as it does not contain much of the above information, there is still valuable data which can be analyzed from it, including login frequency, playtime, etc. Much of the data is players' response to their satisfaction of certain aspects of the game state or events.
